Terms of Service

OG Cover generates Open Graph and social share images in your browser. You choose a layout, type a headline, pick a theme and download the result as a PNG, JPEG or WebP. Rendering happens on our server and the image is streamed straight back to you.

• The service is free to use. There is no paid plan, no trial, no watermark and nothing to cancel.
• There is no account. Nothing to create, nothing to close, and no credentials that can be lost.
• The images you make carry no attribution requirement.
• Advertising is the intended way to pay for this, though none runs yet. See section 6.
• If a paid option is ever introduced, its price and limits will be published before it takes effect, and nothing you use for free today will start costing money without clear notice first.

The headlines you write, the images you upload and the cards you export are yours. We claim no ownership of any of it and we do not keep a copy: renders are streamed back and discarded, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you hold the rights to everything you put into a card, including photographs, logos, trade marks and fonts, and that publishing the result does not infringe anyone else’s rights. This tool cannot clear those rights for you.

What you may and may not make here is set out in the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: render your own work, do not use the service to harm anyone, and do not try to make our servers fetch things they should not.

We may block access, and remove or refuse a render, where these terms or that policy are breached.

A share image exists to be published, so treat every card as public from the moment you type it. Do not put confidential information, credentials, or personal data about other people onto a card.

No advertising runs on this site today. It is intended to carry ads served by Google AdSense, and continuing to use the site once they appear means accepting that they do. How the advertising works, what data it involves and how to opt out of personalisation are described in the Privacy Policy.

Once ads are running, you must not click them artificially, use software to generate impressions or clicks, or take any step intended to inflate ad revenue. That breaks both these terms and Google’s policies, and it puts the funding for a free service at risk.

• The service is provided free of charge and without an uptime guarantee. It may be unavailable during maintenance or under load.
• Rate limits apply so that one visitor cannot deny the service to everyone else.
• Features may change or be removed. Nothing here is a commitment to keep any particular layout, theme or export format forever.

A card can point at an image hosted somewhere else. We fetch it on your instruction and are not responsible for its content or its availability. A fetch that fails, or that our safety checks block, degrades the card rather than failing the render.

The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that rendering will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that an exported image will look identical on every platform that displays it.

Nothing on this site, including the blog, is legal advice. Platform sizes, caching behaviour and meta tag handling change without notice, and the numbers we publish are our best current understanding rather than a guarantee.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data arising from your use of the service.

Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to it is limited to 100 USD.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from what you render, from your use of the service in breach of these terms, or from your infringement of someone else’s rights.

How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

We may update these terms and will move the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which OG Cover operates, and any dispute is to be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available where you live.
